Barbara Murricane

Barbara’s writing background was initially in print journalism where she was a freelance feature and fiction writer/editor for many national magazine titles including “19”, “Honey” and “Woman’s Way”. Following a staff job as editor of the now defunct Scottish “Woman’s Way”, she became copy chief at Struther’s Advertising before moving on to Radio Clyde as Head of Commercial Production (creative).

Once Murricane & Murricane was established, Barbara was contracted out as writer/associate producer to Grampian TV where she worked primarily on the slate of Light Entertainment programmes from chat shows to comedy via music and lifestyle programmes. She also worked at STV as a scriptwriter on childrens’ and general LE whilst contributing to many network comedy shows.

Currently she has a television sitcom in development and continues to freelance as a feature writer, scriptwriter and editor.
